22 December 2020

After the merger of its economic member, KŠD ECONOMIC, with the team of the er.tax company, the KŠD Group has further expanded its expert team. JUDr. Miroslav Antl, a distinguished figure of Czech criminal law and the former member of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, will join the legal profession. From January 2021, Mr. Antl will become a valuable asset to the legal team of the KŠD LEGAL law firm. He will participate in further expansion of legal services in criminal law as well as other areas.

It is already certain that this will be one of the most significant “lateral hires” on the legal market in several years. The association between Miroslav Antl, a distinguished person of Czech law, who has been active in various segments of the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic, Justice, and the legislature for more than forty years, and KŠD LEGAL, a traditional law firm that has been successfully active on the Czech and Slovak markets for more than twenty years, with focus on legal services in criminal law as well, assures the major strengthening of the criminal law department of the law firm. This step will result in the completion of the restructuring of the criminal law team, the creation of a very sound platform of services provided in this area to the present and future clients, and further expansion in this area of services provided by the law firm.

From 2008, Miroslav Antl was the member of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic for two parliamentary terms, in the first two years, he served as Vice-Chairperson of the Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs, and then as Chairperson of this Committee for ten years. Mr. Antl also served as Member of the Committee on Mandate and Parliamentary Privilege, Standing Commissions, also as Member of Legal Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and, from 2012 to 2020, also as Member of the Council of the Hradec Králové Region.

Mr. Antl achieved considerable reputation with the professional and general public already during his service at the Regional Public Prosecutor’s Office in Hradec Králové, as the head of section of the most serious criminal cases, then at the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic, and the Police of the Czech Republic. Mr. Antl has received a number of awards and has been a university lecturer in the field of criminal law.
